mj ong –
i tried Purple – Salted Mung Bean, which i think it is a very healthy version of local angku kueh with mung bean fillings. I can taste the shallots, but not oily at all and with very little sugar in them. Easily steamed them in a glass bowl (which i didn’t use the coated paper ) finished one whole package as my lunch. For folks who love sugar, they can sprinkle some preferred choice of sugar on top of these kueh when ready to eat. or Kinako or ground peanut.
Less plastic packaging may be possible just like those Korean Songpyeon or ramie rice cakes frozen packages selling in Korean marts.
Happy to see such locally made frozen food items in the supermarkets which in the past i have been avoiding them as they are either too sweet or made with palm oil. A convenient healthy snack for all ages.
I enjoy these dim sum , and will buy them again. Thank you.
